This technology focuses the air conditioning in a large factory space only around the workers. This helps boost the productivity levels through an improvement in working conditions, while enabling greater cost reductions than those achieved when air-conditioning the whole large space.

* What is SET?
Standard New Effective Temperature: This is an index for evaluating six elements in a thermal environment (workload, amount of clothing, temperature, radiation temperature, airflow, and humidity) with a single measure.
The following table shows an example of calculating SET for summer and winter when planning spot air-conditioning.
A SET value that is satisfactory to 90% of workers is 24.6°C in summer and 23.3°C in winter. The actual temperature blown is supposed to be 24.7°C in summer and 20.8°C in winter, as design values.
| Amount of clothing | 0.43 (clo) |
|---|---|
| Relative humidity | 60% |
| Workload | 2.5Met |
| Effective radiation field | 0kcal/m2h |
Blowing temperature: 24.7°C
Airflow velocity: 1.5m/s

SET=24.6°C
Satisfaction=90% (90% of workers are satisfied)
| Amount of clothing | 0.56 (clo) |
|---|---|
| Relative humidity | 40% |
| Workload | 2.5Met |
| Effective radiation field | 0kcal/m2h |
Blowing temperature: 20.8°C
Airflow velocity: 1.0m/s

SET=23.3°C
Satisfaction=90% (90% of workers are satisfied)
